ESACOL is a range of thickeners, water retainers and rheology
modifiers particularly suited for the high performance required
by the modern construction and paints industries.
They are obtained from polygalactomannan, a polysaccharide
of natural origin isolated from the seeds of a yearly plant
of the leguminous family.
Chemically, a polygalactomannan is a long chain of mannose,
randomly substituted with galactose; this “branched”
structure, together with the remarkable chain length, provides
special chemical-physical characteristics, among which the
solubility in cold water and the considerable properties as
thickener and rheology modifier of solutions.
The original characteristics as water retainer and the biostability,
are further improved by a chemical reaction, inserting into
the polysaccharide some hydroxyalkylated groups.
The processes conditions –from the seeds to the hydroxyalkylated
derivatives and the special final formulations of the product,
have been extensively studied by Lamberti in order to obtain
their maximum applicative performance. That's why ESACOL,
a range of thickeners, water retainers and rheology modifiers,
to be used as a total or partial alternative to cellulose
ethers in the main building and painting applications, providing
excellent results at a moderate cost.
The ESACOL products are obtained from a raw material of
natural origins, renewable and environmental friendly, and
even after the chemical transformations maintain their characteristics
of biocompatibility in accordance to the modern bioconstruction
criteria. |
